Elden Ring: Where To Find The Giant

To get the Giant-Crusher Colossal Hammer in Elden Ring, Tarnished warriors must defeat a formidable elite enemy to loot the chest of carriage.

Declared to be one of the heftiest weapons in the Lands Between, the Giant-Crusher is a Colossal Weapon in Elden Ring with the highest Strength stat requirement of 60. Furthermore, Tarnished warriors will need sufficient space in their Equip Load as the enormous hammer weighs 26.5. The Giant-Crusher does striking damage, and while it comes with the damage-reducing Ash of War: Endure, players can infuse it with any suitable weapon art of their choosing.

As a Colossal Hammer in Elden Ring, the Giant-Crusher swings particularly slow but will land staggeringly heavy blows. Those who've wielded the Hammer in Monster Hunter Rise or World will likely be familiar with the feel and movement of this weapon. Nevertheless, it might take time to adapt for Tarnished more acquainted with nimble, fast-attack weaponry, such as daggers and other short blades. However, with practice and good timing, the Giant-Crusher can lead adventurers down the path of reaching the hammer's full capability of crushing trolls, golems, and even giants.

The Giant-Crusher is located within the outer ward of Leyndell, Royal Capital, specifically south of the Outer Wall Phantom Tree. Near the cliffside sits an abandoned coach surrounded by wooden spikes. In the back of the carriage, Tarnished travelers can loot a chest with the Colossal Hammer.

While obtaining the Giant-Crusher is straightforward, the area around the hammer's location is somewhat perilous. When adventurers approach the wagon, an Ulcerated Tree Spirit will spawn from the sky and immediately attack the player. This non-boss variant is identical to the creatures that Tarnished will have encountered in Fringefolk Hero's Grave and the underground sewer beneath Stormveil Castle. However, this one will be noticeably stronger and deal greater damage. Players are recommended to take advantage of its weaknesses by using Frostbite or Fire-related attacks and Spells. It's relatively easy to dodge its moves at a close range, but archers and spellcasters might find the fight intimidating as the beast can quickly cover ground.

Nevertheless, once the Ulcerated Tree Spirit is defeated, Tarnished can step onto the coach and acquire the Giant-Crusher. Travelers who have yet to reach the western outskirts of Leyndell will need to get past two Tree Sentinels outside the giant gate near the Outer Wall Phantom Tree. This boss duo can be bypassed if Tarnished are quick enough but may be easily overwhelmed by the two formidable foes. It's recommended to use ranged attacks and cheese the horsemen by standing atop either side of the long walkway towards the capital's outer walls.
