APD arrests 3 suspects from Top 25 Auto Theft list — City of Albuquerque
ALBUQUERQUE – APD detectives arrested three people from the Top 25 Auto Theft offenders list during the first week of the department’s new warrant initiative.
“All three suspects were on our radar and all three not only had warrants, but they were caught in the act of committing additional crimes this past week,” APD Chief Harold Medina said. “We are targeting offenders with felony warrants and criminal histories that show they need to stay in jail.”
Auto Theft Top 25 Arrest this Week:
Bryan Dennie 8/02/1992
Charge- Warrant for RTSV (New charges for Felon in Possession of a firearm, and auto theft charges.)
On July 27, 2023 Auto theft detectives and Intel detectives located Auto theft top 25 offender Bryan Dennie, who had two felony warrants for his arrest (RTSV). Dennie has a known history to flee from officers. APD k-9 unit was contacted and responded to the area to assist with the apprehension. Surveillance was conducted and Dennie was observed doing hand-to-hand transactions of narcotics. Detectives formulated an apprehension plan and Dennie fled on foot. While running a firearm fell on the ground. Dennie was arrested without incident.
Theodore Kinyak 4/22/96
Charge- Warrant for Unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and new charge of RSTV
On July 26, 2023, Auto Theft detectives were patrolling the area of Menaul Blvd NE and San Pedro Dr NE, when they located a silver Honda parked on the street not bearing a license plate. Detectives determined the vehicle was reported stolen on July 25, 2023. Covert surveillance was conducted on the vehicle and two subjects were observed operating the vehicle at different points in time.
The vehicle proceeded to the McDonald's located at 5900 Menaul Blvd NE where the male driver dropped off the female passenger. The male, who was later identified as Theodore Kinyak, proceeded to abandon the vehicle at 6324 Zimmerman Ave NE. Kinyak was later apprehended in a nearby park while he was walking away from the vehicle. During my investigation, the vehicle was confirmed as being the active stolen motor vehicle and was discovered to have ignition damage. The vehicle could be started without a key and Theodore was not found to be in possession of a factory key for the vehicle.
Daniel Hennessy 2/27/84
Charge- Unlawful taking of a MV *2
On 07/28/2023 While conducting surveillance in an undercover capacity detectives observed Daniel Hennessy walking around the complex of 1919 Ladera Dr NW. Detectives knew Hennessy had two active felony warrants. Hennessy exited the complex and continued to walk westbound through the complex. Detectives made contact with him and he was detained in handcuffs. The warrants were confirmed and he was advised that he was under arrest.
